Increase Access to Financial Aid: Support Letters for SB 12 Urgently needed

Senate Bill 12 would improve post-secondary educational achievement among foster youth by increasing access to financial aid and campus-based services.

The bill has passed the legislature and we’re now headed into the hardest part of the process: getting the Governor’s signature, and need your help. There are many worthy, competing priorities and a lot of uncertainty on the federal level, both of which will make getting a signature challenging. A massive outpouring of support is essential to ensuring the Governor signs SB 12.

A sample support letter can be downloaded using the link below. Please use this template to provide a support letter to the Governor.

We are also seeking letters from foster youth. A separate template that can be used by youth is attached. If you work directly with foster youth and are able to gather support letters from them, that would also be greatly appreciated

All letters must be received by us no later than 3:00 on Thursday September 21 and should be e-mailed to [email protected].
