Sign-On Support Letter for 20% Youth Set-Aside in Governor’s $750 M Proposal to Address Homelessness

The Governor has proposed a $750 million allocation in the 2020-21 State Budget to address homelessness. Together with a coalition of advocates, John Burton Advocates for Youth is requesting that 20% of this funding be set aside to address youth homelessness. This approach was taken in the last two budget cycles, with 5% of the $500 M Homeless Emergency Aid Program (HEAP) and 8% of the $650 M Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention (HHAP) Program required to be spent addressing youth homelessness.
